Teaching Assistant
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join our academic team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality education, assist lecturers, and engage with students to enhance their learning experience. This position requires a strong commitment to education, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to create a supportive and interactive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Course Support: Assist in the preparation and organisation of course materials, including syllabi, lectures, and assignments. Help in updating and maintaining course content.
- Teaching Assistance: Support lecturers during lectures and tutorials, lead small group discussions, and deliver supplementary instruction as needed.
- Assessment: Assist in the development and grading of assessments, provide feedback to students, and ensure timely evaluation of student work.
- Student Support: Hold office hours to answer student questions, provide academic guidance, and help students with course-related challenges.
- Administrative Tasks: Help with administrative duties related to the course, such as managing course records, coordinating schedules, and organising course materials.
- Research Support: Assist with academic research projects, including data collection, literature reviews, and research presentations.
- Departmental Contributions: Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of educational programmes and initiatives.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on teaching practices and advancements in the field to support effective instructional methods.
What We Need from You:
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar academic support role is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assist in curriculum development and provide effective instruction.
