ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business

The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business is a 60-credit qualification equivalent to an A Level or Access to HE qualification. It equips students with knowledge and understanding of the business environment and how businesses work.  It is recognised by employers, and students with this qualification can progress to Level 4 in Business. 

Overview

Our Level 3 Diploma in Business is awarded by Awards for Training and Higher Education (ATHE) and regulated by Ofqual. It is well respected by employers across the sector. This comprehensive programme consists of 60 credits and is suitable for students who want to develop knowledge and skills in Business Management and work towards the HND or university degree in Business.

This course provides you with an introduction to how all types of businesses work.   It includes an overview of the business environment and what functions businesses need to succeed.  It highlights the importance of effective communication, working in teams and carrying out meaningful market research. Successful students may progress to the ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management.

Course Details

Entry Requirements

Age: 18+

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above or Grade 4 and above
  • Other related level 2 subjects such as English and Maths Functional Skills
  • Other equivalent international qualifications

English Language Level: 

Students without qualifications from majority English-speaking countries

  • IELTs 5
  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) B1
  • Cambridge B1 Preliminary 140 or above
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE-A) 40.8 +
  • Functional Skills English Level 1 
  • Students with none of the above may be required to pass the TEC English language test.

Prior Experiential Learning:

Students with no formal qualifications may be considered if they are able to demonstrate prior learning through work experience.  This is assessed through a personal statement and interview.
